Terms of Service
The legal agreement governing your access to and use of Simple Tools Labs, our web platforms, and products including Tangled, Doublew, Atendo, and Gester.
1. Agreement to Terms & Entity
By visiting simpletoolslabs.com, registering for our beta intake cohorts, or installing software developed by Simple Tools Innovation Labs Private Limited ("Simple Tools Labs", "we", "us", or "our"), you enter into a binding agreement governed by these Terms of Service.
If you are entering into these terms on behalf of a company, organization, or educational facility (e.g. for Atendo or Gester), you represent and warrant that you possess the requisite authority to bind that entity.
2. Early Access Cohorts & Beta Releases
Certain software products provided by Simple Tools Labs are actively evolving in private or public beta testing phases. By participating in early access cohorts:
- You acknowledge that beta releases may contain defects, experimental UX, or undergo structural revisions prior to general availability.
- We provide beta access on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- Any feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or feature ideas you provide to us become our property, which we may implement freely without compensation or obligation.
3. Tangled (Couple Canvas & Private Space)
Tangled is licensed for personal, pairwise couple usage subject to the following conditions:
- Mutual Agreement: Both partners must authenticate and consent to establishing a private pair. You may not impersonate or initiate pairing with an individual without their explicit authorization.
- Couple Subscription: Under the Tangled Pro model, a single subscription purchased by one partner unlocks Pro features for both members of the active pair. If the pair is disconnected, Pro benefits cease unless a new qualifying subscription is established.
- Content Responsibility: You retain ownership of all notes, drawings, photos, and messages pinned to your canvas. You agree not to upload unlawful, non-consensual, or malicious content.
- Pair Dissolution: Either partner has the unilateral right to disconnect the pair. Upon disconnection, both parties lose access to the shared canvas, and shared elements are permanently scheduled for deletion.
4. Doublew (Time Buckets Productivity OS)
Doublew is licensed for personal productivity and focus management:
- License Scope: You are granted a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run Doublew on personal devices for personal or commercial productivity.
- Trials & Purchases: Where applicable, Doublew offers a 30-day evaluation trial without feature handicaps. Continued use after evaluation requires selecting an active subscription or lifetime license option.
- Local-First Storage: You are responsible for maintaining backups of your local database. While optional cloud sync provides backup resilience, Simple Tools Labs is not liable for data loss caused by local OS clearing or device wiping.
5. Atendo (Workplace Presence & Attendance)
Atendo provides verified workplace attendance without corporate bloat:
- Employer Obligations: Organizations utilizing Atendo must comply with all regional employment, labor, and data protection laws regarding workforce attendance tracking and consent.
- Integrity of Verification: Users agree not to spoof GPS coordinates, bypass biometric prompts, mock hardware challenges, or falsify check-in/check-out logs. Circumvention of verification pipelines constitutes a breach of service.
- Hardware Gate Kiosks & AtendoTags: Organizations deploying physical Gate Kiosks or AtendoTag beacons are responsible for securing the physical devices against unauthorized tampering.
6. Gester (Co-Living & Facility Management OS)
Gester governs communal appliance scheduling and IoT power controller integration:
- Communal Fair Use: Tenants agree to adhere to slot scheduling, prompt laundry pickup, and machine swap etiquette. Machine hogging or unauthorized relay tampering is prohibited.
- Emergency Lockouts: Facility managers and automated sensors may trigger water-outage or electrical hazard lockdowns. Simple Tools Labs is not liable for wash cycles delayed or cancelled during facility emergency interlocks.
- Hardware Controller Safety: ESP32 GesterTag hardware and smart power relays must be installed by qualified personnel according to local electrical safety standards.
7. Symmetrical Cancellation & Refund Policy
In accordance with our core design philosophy of symmetrical friction, cancelling your account or subscription requires zero cumbersome hurdles:
Cancel paid subscriptions anytime directly from your settings with a single confirmation. No mandatory phone calls, questionnaires, or retention dark patterns.
If you are unsatisfied with a paid digital purchase, email support@simpletools.dev within 14 days of purchase for a full, prompt refund.
8. Intellectual Property
All visual interfaces, source code, logos, visual marks, algorithms, typography, documentation, and product designs are the proprietary intellectual property of Simple Tools Innovation Labs Private Limited and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.
You retain full, uncompromised ownership of any content, notes, checklists, drawings, or business data you produce using our tools.
9. Governing Law & Legal Contact
These terms are construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bangalore or New Delhi, India.
